Last checked Oct. 12, 2026. Sources: Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools’ school lists, School Locator and boundary maps, the N.C. Department of Public Instruction’s report card data and 2025-26 accountability data, the City of Winston-Salem’s school zone map layers, Forsyth County’s address points and the federal Private School Survey.

Winston-Salem’s traditional public schools are run by Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS), one countywide district that also serves Kernersville, Clemmons, Lewisville, Walkertown and the rest of Forsyth County. The city has no school system of its own.

Attendance zones do not follow city limits. Some Winston-Salem addresses are zoned to East Forsyth High in Kernersville, West Forsyth High in Clemmons, Walkertown High or Reagan High in Pfafftown, and Glenn High’s campus is inside the city even though its mailing address says Kernersville. To find the elementary, middle and high school for any address, use the district’s School Locator.
