Four Winston-Salem restaurants whose own sites list a patio, porch or outdoor seating: two on Robinhood Road and two near downtown.

Last checked Oct. 12, 2026. Refreshed every three months.

Outdoor dining that restaurants describe on their own sites is spread across Winston-Salem: two places on Robinhood Road, a tavern on West First Street and a restaurant in a historic mansion on North Spring Street, both near downtown. Heated and covered spaces are noted below.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Winston-Salem’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. A place is listed only if its own site says it has a patio, porch or outdoor seating; many restaurants in the city have outdoor tables but do not say so on their sites, and we will add them when they do. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.

The places

Five Guys is the burger and fries chain’s Mount Tabor location on Robinhood Road. Its location page lists outdoor seating with dine-in, takeout and delivery.

The Quiet Pint Tavern on West First Street calls itself more than an average tavern, with craft beer on tap, sporting events to watch and a large outdoor patio that it says is partly enclosed, heated and dog-friendly. Its menu runs from burgers and sandwiches to salads and noodle dishes, and it posts weekly drink specials.

River Birch Lodge describes itself as a lodge-style, mountain casual restaurant that opened in 2005 on Robinhood Road. It serves lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, and says diners can eat inside, on its outdoor porches or in the bar. Its covered back patio, which can be enclosed, is also booked for private groups.

Spring House Restaurant, Kitchen & Bar is in a century-old Southern mansion on North Spring Street. It serves dinner Wednesday to Saturday and has a Library Bar. The house has seven separate rooms, patio seating and outdoor space for larger tented events, which it books for private dining.

Before you go. None of these four sites says its outdoor tables can be reserved for a regular meal, and outdoor space can close in cold or wet weather. Call ahead to ask whether the patio or porch is open, and whether a dog is welcome where the site does not say.
